analysis of re-make clip

Analysis of Re-make of 90210 Clip.

Characters –

·         Geeta – Adriana.

·         Zak – Neth.

·         Alina – Police Officer/Student.

·         Connor – Police Officer/Student.

·         Fiona – Student who gets arrested
 

In my group we made a re-make of a scene from 90210, we had to pick a school themed TV Drama and portray an issue which is serious. In the original clip and in our re-make of the clip, we present the issue of Drugs and friendship. These issues are relateed to teens in specific as they are more likely to be influenced into these certain representational issues.

At the beginning, (Geeta) Adriana is walking towards her locker looking very suspicious; while she goes to her locker she tries to get out something but is caught by her friend neth (Zak). He instantly knows what she is doing as he knows exactly what the item is in Adriana’s (Geeta) hand. Neth (Zak) tries to explain to Adriana that you should stop it and convinces her to dispose it however Adriana becomes stubborn and walk off, while Neth follows behind her, police enter and arrest a student (Fiona) for having drugs with her. Then the camera goes back to Adriana panicking that she is going to get caught and tells Neth why she was taking the drugs. Neth calms her down and tells her to give the container to him so that he can dispose it for her. While Neth runs away, he is chased by the police into the toilets where Neth disposes the drugs into the toilets.

 

The props used in the filming of our clip were; A Lipstick container which is similar to the one in the original clip, inside the lipstick container is sugar which represents the drugs. Lockers are also used in the scene as it displays the setting of a school. School bags, folders which are held by ‘students’ in the school as the scene location was a corridor of a school. These props were used so that it could make the clip more realistic.

 

In the clip there is diegetic sound used which show the natural setting atmosphere that it builds. It also makes the clip more realistic. The dialogues used in this clip are similar to the actual clip itself.
 

There are many varieties of shots in many angles. There is a low angle shot used in which it shows the power ‘Neth – Naomi’ has in order to persuade her friend to dispose the drugs.

The two shot of the 2 characters portray the importance they have in this clip. It also represents the strong friendship they have.  The Zoom out and panning used it bring out the realism of the situation so that the audience can have a better understanding of the situation.
In the beginning there is a shot where the camera pans out from when Adriana walks towards the lockers. Few
